Mending the Soul is a non-profit, privately funded organization with a global vision — to bring community-based restoration to people worldwide who have experienced abuse. We create wholistic healing models to educate and resource individuals, churches, and service organizations with sustainable trauma care materials contextualized for their specific communities. We believe that healing happens in community, and seek to create resources that foster safe, restorative relationships.
At DSCC, Mending the Soul (MTS) is made up of small groups for women who wish to receive support and help with recovery from their experiences of sexual, physical, verbal (emotional), spiritual abuse and abuse from neglect. The group works through the Mending the Soul Workbook which is a complement to the book Mending the Soul: Understanding and Healing Abuse by Steven Tracy. In the group the nature and effects of abuse are discussed but the group also provides a Christ-centered, biblically based model for support towards healing and recovery from abuse.
To get information about joining a group (they begin in January & September), you can email the leaders here. Please include your name and cell phone number in the email, and indicate your preferred method of communication.
